Discuss the major plot events of the play—the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution—in detail.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Exposition: A direct way of telling the reader/audience what's happening in the story before it starts. It sets the tone of the whole storyincluding establishing the characters and where the story is going to take place. Think of James Bond's conversations with M at MI6. This is the exposition part of the story.

Rising Action: Because of what is established in the exposition, the characters in the story are led to do something. This part gets more suspenseful as the story progresses making the audience wonder what's going to happen next. That's why it's a "rising" action. Think of Bond's activities when he's gathering intelligence about the antagonist and surveilling him.

Climax: This is usually the most important part of the story. It's the culmination of everything that's happened in the story so far and the point where a choice or an action is made the affects every part of the story. Think of the moment when Bond meets the antagonist, or more specifically, their outright confrontation.

Falling action: This is the part of the story which shows the consequences of climax and the "fallout." Think of Bond escaping from a place that's about to go up in flames after he's beat his antagonist.

Resolution: This is the conclusion of the story that wraps everything up and fills in any details that hadn't been revealed before so that the story is fully understood. And it gives you an indication of what's to happen once the story ends too. Think of the last bit of a Bond movie when Bond gets the girl again.

Hope this helps!

Give at least two examples from pages 8-12 that support the idea that Wiesel’s community had been in a state of denial and “delusion” that the situation wasn’t as bad as it seemed and they would be ok.
What mood does Wiesel establish when describing the conditions of the cattle cars? Support by citing an example from the text.

Explain the incident with Mrs. Schachter and why you think Wiesel felt this was worth including. (Consider what happened, how others treated her, and what this suggests).

Explain how the news about Auschwitz misleads Elie and the others.

Answers

Answer:

the first example is from page 8, where the Jews doubted that Hitler would be able to harm them. This is vital since they are denying that with such a humongous population of Jews, it would be impossible for Hitler to wipe them all out. The second example is how Ellie's dad thinks that the star of David isn't lethal, on page 11. He believed that the star is not lethal, but it marked the Jews and condemned them to their demise.

Ellie established a hopeless mood when describing the cattle car, saying how there was little air, not being able to sit down, and little food and water, all of which are on page 23.

Mrs.Schachter was hallucinating on the train from thirst, which made her yelled "fire". She was seem as mad by everyone, but when they arrived at camp, the Jews actually smelled burnt corpses in the air. Ellie included this information because Mrs.Schachter was right, which can also be used as a foreshadow. The people treating her badly on the train could symbolize the German treating the Jews badly, and Mrs.Schacter screaming fire could symbolize the Jews begging for forgiveness and mercy from their doom.

The news about Auschwitz mislead ellie and the others by making them think that they will be safe and be freed by working, but the labor is what will kill them and sinus the camp.

What did you include in your response? Check all that apply.

He feels alone in the beginning.
He makes a mistake while trying to speak English.
Laughing with the other boys makes him feel more accepted.
Feeling accepted makes him feel hopeful about fitting in as an American.

What is unit conversion?

To convert any unit into another is called a unit conversion.

In order to convert units, we need to care about their dimensions their dimension should not be changed.

For example conversion of a kilometer to a meter is to multiply by 1000 but meter and kilometer both unit is for distance only.

Given that,

Volume of crate = 2.1 m³

Since,

1 m = 1000 mm

So,

2.1 m³ = 2.1(1000mm)³

⇒ 2.1(10³)³ mm³

⇒ 2.1 × 10⁹ mm³.

Hence "The volume of the box is 2.1 × 10⁹ mm³".

Explanation:

Hyperbole is an exaggeration that is meant to bring out a point or add humor to the speech. In the sentence above, the reader knows quite well that it is impossible for a person to shake off his arm. However, the exaggeration was clearly used to stress the fact that Fred shook his arm so vigorously.

The intensity was so much that the speaker wondered how Fred did not shake his arm off.
