b. attacks by Native Americans
c. nonexistent infrastructure
d. a lack of faith in the mission

The greatest fear that European settlers had to face in America was the weak government institution. Hence A is the correct option.

What were the European settlers known for?

The Vikings were the most widely accepted, first European settlers in America. These were the sea-fearing people from the late 8th century to the early 11th century. They had established their name as traders, warriors, and explorers and were also called the Norseman.

The Vikings were also known for their impeccable hygiene. They set to foot a thousand years before Christopher Columbus actually visited the country and started colonizing the country. They can be found as farther as the distant reaches of the east up to Russia.

They were led by Leif Eriksson who with a group of one daring band entered America, and became the first one to colonize it. But despite the other stringent issues such as death threats or even health issues they got most severely affected by the formation of a weak government institution.

Hence A is the correct option.

Choose the word that is the antonym of the word which is in braces(" "): Have you seen that "timid" child?

a,brave

b,tall

c,big

d,tender

Answers

Answer:

The word that is the antonym of "timid" is:

a. brave.

Explanation:

Antonyms are words that have opposite meanings. Examples of antonyms are: hot/cold; tall/short; beautiful/ugly. Therefore, we need to choose the word whose meaning is the opposite of "timid". A timid person is someone who lacks confidence or courage. The opposite of timid is, thus, someone who has courage = someone is brave. The best option is then a. brave.

Read this excerpt from White Fang by Jack London.

The qualities in his kind that in the beginning made it possible for them to come in to the fires of men, were qualities capable of development. They were developing in him, and the camp-life, replete with misery as it was, was secretly endearing itself to him all the time. But White Fang was unaware of it. He knew only grief for the loss of Kiche, hope for her return, and a hungry yearning for the free life that had been his.

Which quotation from the paragraph supports the story’s theme of homesickness?

“The camp life . . . was secretly endearing itself to him all the time.”
“But White Fang was unaware of it.”
“He knew only . . . a hungry yearning for the free life that had been his.”
“The qualities in his kind . . . were qualities capable of development.”

Answers

Answer:

“He knew only . . . a hungry yearning for the free life that had been his.”

Which is an effective strategy for revising fiction?

Answers

If you want to make sure that your writing is free of grammatical and flow mistakes, revision is a crucial element of the writing process.

How to revise fiction?

Narrative style needs to be tight, distinct, and interesting regardless of the type of writing you perform. Fiction writers must include tension and emotion in their work.

Edit after reading the text. Consider yourself a reader who has never read this article before, and examine it objectively. You should perform a thorough revision with an emphasis on editing and then another one with a focus on proofreading. There should be a purpose for each statement, question, point, and word in your material. Remove it if it doesn't improve the content of your essay.

Most authors don't always pay close attention to spelling and punctuation. It's advisable to let your thoughts flow and get everything on the page before proofreading.

Once you become aware of your common mistakes, you can begin to naturally fix them as you write.

What makes the tell-tale heart and it's narrator so thought provoking is that the whole time we hear about a murder and it leads us to question what happened and who done it. It is also though provoking because the narrator tries constantly to try and convince the reader that he isn't insane and instead has heightened senses which can later be proved to come from a disease known as schizopherina which is a mental illness that causes the person to hallucinate and hear, and see things that aren't there.

who created the light bulb?

Also describe to me your oc (original character) and i'll rate it or add some suggestions to it

i'm just bored ;-;

Answers

Thomas Edison 1879, My oc is a Japanese martial arts master with white hair (antagonist)

Answer 1:

Most people say Thomas Edison created the light bulb, some will argue that it was really Joseph Swan, or someone similar.

Answer 2:

My main OC is Azure Polaris, a grey petralyn with blue markings and a purple sweater. They are neutrally aligned, neither good nor evil, and have a love for technology and the creation and utilization of various electronic devices, which is a big part of why they work as a technoscientist.

Azure is a quiet and anxious individual that has a hard time in social environments, but for those who are close to them, they'll do everything in their power to make sure that their loved ones are safe and treated properly. This is because they lost their younger brother, Spider, to their former mentor, a petralyn named Nettle who was a respected magic user before the Chimera Crisis, and they are determined never to let something like that happen again.

If possible, they will avoid fighting, and tend to allow their opponents time to run away or correct things in hopes of preventing combat, unless they acknowledge that it may be the only option. Their usual battle strategies often lean towards indirect attacks and making use of speed and the element of surprise, and they will summon a large light rod which can be used like a staff or a spear, although they mostly use it to block, and occasionally to pierce, but rarely to throw. They may also summon daggers that they'll dual wield if the purpose truly is to injure their target. Their preferred offensive tactics involve summoning several light darts, which look like much smaller versions of their primary weapons (like quills or needles) that they'll fire as projectiles towards the intended target. They'll never kill anyone, since they still regret the situation with Spider, Nettle, Thorn, and Thistle, which is why they prefer the darts - The darts are usually non-fatal.

I originally created Azure at 2 AM on October 4th, 2022. I specifically remember that I was browsing songs to create a playlist for Nyx, another OC of mine, when I came across a remake/sequel of a song that I loved and listened to frequently back in fourth grade. This song is what inspired me to create Azure, and since then, I've grown very attached to them. The song also changed my hyperfixation, and Azure has been my drive to step outside of my comfort zone and explore things that I've avoided for years since a very personal traumatic event. Because of them, I've been rediscovering things I forgot about myself, finding answers to questions that have baffled me for quite some time, and healing from the bad experiences I had in the past. They do some bad things as a sort of vent outlet for me, and helping them overcome those bad things helps me feel better about things that I've been struggling with. Azure has become one of my biggest comforts in only a few months, and I love them very much. <3

justify Danforth's stance in Act 4, and the decisions he makes.

Answers

Answer: Governor Danforth represents rigidity and an over-adherence to the law in The Crucible. Danforth is clearly an intelligent man, highly respected and successful. He arrives in Salem to oversee the trials of the accused witches with a serene sense of his own ability to judge fairly. The chaos of the trial doesn’t affect his own belief that he is the best judge. At the end of the play, Salem is falling apart, Abigail has run away, having stolen Parris’s life savings, and many other lives have been ruined yet Danforth still cannot agree that the trials were a sham. He remains firm in his conviction that the condemned should not be executed. When John refuses to let him post his confession in town, Danforth sends him away to be hanged, “high over the town.” Danforth believes in sticking by a principle in spite of all evidence that his belief is wrong.
