HELP ASAP EASY QUESTIONS
Memories of a Memory Have you ever witnessed something amazing, shocking or surprising and found when describing the event that your story seems to change the more you tell it? Have you ever experienced a time when you couldn't really describe something you saw in a way that others could understand? If so, you may understand why some experts think eyewitness testimony is unreliable as evidence in scientific inquiries and trials. New insights into human memory suggest human memories are really a mixture of many non-factual things. First, memory is vague. Imagine your room at home or a classroom you see every day. Most likely, you could describe the room very generally. You could name the color of the walls, the floors, the decorations. But the image you describe will never be as specific or detailed as if you were looking at the actual room. Memory tends to save a blurry image of what we have seen rather than specific details. So when a witness tries to identify someone, her brain may recall that the person was tall, but not be able to say how tall when faced with several tall people. There are lots of different kinds of "tall." Second, memory uses general knowledge to fill in gaps. Our brains reconstruct events and scenes when we remember something. To do this, our brains use other memories and other stories when there are gaps. For example, one day at a library you go to quite frequently, you witness an argument between a library patron and one of the librarians. Later, when telling a friend about the event, your brain may remember a familiar librarian behind the desk rather than the actual participant simply because it is recreating a familiar scene. In effect, your brain is combining memories to help you tell the story. Third, your memory changes over time. It also changes the more you retell the story. Documented cases have shown eyewitnesses adding detail to testimony that could not have been known at the time of the event. Research has also shown that the more a witness's account is told, the less accurate it is. You may have noticed this yourself. The next time you are retelling a story, notice what you add, or what your brain wants to add, to the account. You may also notice that you drop certain details from previous tellings of the story. With individual memories all jumbled up with each other, it is hard to believe we ever know anything to be true. Did you really break your mother's favorite vase when you were three? Was that really your father throwing rocks into the river with you when you were seven? The human brain may be quite remarkable indeed. When it comes to memory, however, we may want to start carrying video cameras if we want to record the true picture.

. According to the article, what does Cornelia Vertenstein say about continuity and persistence? How does she embody those things

Answers

Answer:

According to the article Cornelia Vertenstein says she believes in continuity and that her students learn to be persistent because of it.

She embody those things by refusing to allow a challenge (the pandemic) to stop her from teaching her students (continuity), and consequently manages through her persistence to teach her students those qualities, and to pull off a whole virtual event despite the present circumstances.

Explanation:

Continuity is the maintenance of consistent action over time, Cornelia embodies this trait by maintaining the schedule of her lessons with her students.

Persistence is the act of continuing in a course of action despite difficulties and challenges one may face, Cornelia embodies and teaches her students this by insisting on carrying on the lessons despite the pandemic situation.

What does William Wordsworth mean by "heads" in the following bolded line? I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in a sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils. Can somebody please describe an event in the play Twelfth Night, and explain how one of the characters' actions illustrates the theme please?

Answers

The theme of madness in Twelfth Night often overlaps the themes of desire and love. Orsino talks about the faculty of love producing multiple changing images of the beloved, similar to hallucinations. Olivia remarks at certain points that desire for Cesario is making her mad. These examples of madness are mostly metaphorical: madness becomes a way for characters to express the intensity of their romantic feelings.

But the play also has multiple characters that seem to go literally mad. As part of the prank that Maria, Sir Toby, and Fabian play on Malvolio, they convince everyone that he is crazy. The confusion that results from characters' mixing up Viola/Cesario and Sebastian, after Sebastian's arrival in Illyria, also leads many of them to think that they have lost their minds. The general comedy and chaos that creates (and results from) this confusion also references the ritualized chaos of the Twelfth Night holiday in Renaissance England.

It was a bright shiny morning and Phillip and I had just begun the day's walk. Like we have done every morning for the past six years. " You must never stop moving" my father had told my best friend and I " If you stop before you get to tomorrow you will never make it.." So that is what we have done, walked and walked and walked for six whole years to a place that we don't even know what looks like. But apparently we will know when we get there, at least that's what dad and Phillip have told me. "You will feel it when you get there". But i'm not convinced. I mean the to much of the world is rotting, why would there be anything left? The virus ruined everything. First it just was killing of the old, then it spread to the young. Then within three years the entire human race as we knew it was gone. How is Phillip and I still alive you ask? Well we are immune, yeah lucky us. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the fact I won't turn into a mindless monster of a human. But that also means that we have a huge target on my back. They call themselves the "seekers" "we will seek out the cure, we will seek out the immune, we are seeking for you." They have been "seeking" for  Ten years.  So that's why we keep going, and going and going. Because if we stop we will get seeked, (that's what they call it when your caught). The seekers have control of all the land that's liveable, and in order to enter that land you are tested first to see if your immune. And if you are captured and Tortured, (Tested is their prefered choice of words). And no one makes it back out alive. Philip is the only reason i make through the days. He is this bright ray of light in my cold dark world, Dad and I found him Eight years ago. When we were both Eight years old. Dad and I were shopping in an old grocery store and I was digging through a stack of army blankets when I got to the bottom and there was a small sleeping boy. I wanted to just leave him there but dad and his big heart said otherwise. But he wouldn't have made it without us. Back then he was much shorter than me, weaker too but sadly i have only grown five more inches since then. Phil on the other had grew two whole feet. He really likes to call attention to that, on an hourly basis. I say he likes me, you know likes me likes me. And if we are being honest i am beginning to like him too. But I don't have time for love, I'm too busy focusing on keeping us both alive. Only thing Phil is good at is shooting, and that's only handy when someone is shooting at us. So I'm the one who finds the food, the water, the clothes, everything we need in order to stay alive. Right now I'm taking us to the old mall, it's supposed to still have clothes and shoes. Phil really needs some more shoes, if i have to listen to him complain one more time about a rock sticking him in the foot then i promise i'm going to lose it. Then after we found Bigfoot some shoes we were going to the old Mc donalds, i heard that the Coke machine still works. I haven't had coke since dad died. Mainly because you can't find it, but also the fact that it reminds me too much of him it was our thing. Dad loved it, it also is what got him killed, it was my birthday and Dad and Phil were determined to get me a decent birthday present. They thought I was sleeping so they left the hotel room we were in that night to go find some. I wasn't asleep though, because them two couldn't be quite long enough if their life depended on it. So I followed them down back streets and up alleys. Until they arrived in an old abandoned Walmart, the most intact one I had ever seen. I watched them go in and I waited and waited, ten minutes later a group of people went in after them, turns out that those people were immune hunters. By the time I got to Dad to warn him it was too late, He sacrificed himself for us, before he died he told me to never give up, find your tomorrow. He then wanted to tell Phil something in private, but Phil told me in a letter that he made him promise he would never leave me. I think Dad always knew that Phill would fall for me, I think he also knew that I would too. I've tried every year for six years, on this day to drink it but i've never been able to.
