Identify the false statement. There is very little rock record for earth’s first 600 million years because.

Answers

Answer 1

The correct option is a. There is very little rock record for earth’s first 600 million years because the surface of the Earth then was one huge ocean brain filled with hot water and nothing else.

The rock record is frequently referred to by geologists and other earth scientists. The only item other than the rocks that are present now is the rock record. The geologic events are not neatly organized in the rock record. Rock formations are eroded, buried, destroyed, split in half, melted, pressed together, and even turned on their side. Only "leftovers" that have not yet been recycled are "recorded" as elements of Earth's history. That is, the original rocks are frequently altered or destroyed when a region changes owing to a geologic process, making it challenging to investigate the circumstances that gave rise to the rock. However, everything we know about the Earth's past comes from examining the rock that was created by geologic processes.

Identify the FALSE statement. There is very little rock record for Earth's first 600 million years because

a. the surface then was one huge ocean basin filled with hot water and nothing else.

b. rocks of that age sank back down into the Earth.

c. intense meteorite bombardment may have destroyed most land surface.

d. any rock that formed during that time was likely melted/recycled.

Sedimentary rocks are classified according to  grain size of the sediment and the kinds of rock fragments that actually make up the sediment (Table). Grain size is largely the function of the distance the particle was transported. In general, the greater the distance travelled, the smaller in size and more rounded the sediment particles will be.

Waves are result of disturbances that happens in a system, which helps to transit energy from a place to another.

Light wave helps to transmit energy form a light source such as stars to the surrounding environment.

When the wave length is long the energy transmitted is also reduced. This is an indication that the distance between the object producing the wave and the environment is far apart.

Because star light are usually very small and far away it indicate that the light wave is stretched out because of the distance that exist between the stars and the earth. The distance makes it redder than expected and the universe expand and moves away form the intensity of the light.

Historically, we see that the first and second atmosphere of earth were deficient in oxygen.

In the absence of oxygen, the ozone layer was not formed yet to keep the earth safe from incoming harmful ultraviolet radiation and ultimately no oxygen was available for animal respiration.

As the earth history progresses, subsequent development occurred such as the certain developments in plants lead to photosynthesis process. During photosynthesis, plants utilized carbon dioxide and released oxygen into the atmosphere.

There isn't much rain in the eye, the pressure is at its lowest, and the winds are essentially calm. Rain carries soil into a nearby pond. This is an interaction between which two "spheres" of the earth?.

Answers

Rain carrying soil into a nearby pond can be explained by the interplay of the geosphere and hydrosphere.

The hydrosphere interacts with the geosphere when bodies of water or rain cause land formations to erode. Rocks are broken down into small fragments and new rock patterns are created by rivers and rainstorms. The hydrosphere discharges snow and ice, which harden and cool the geosphere.

Precipitation, such as rain or snow, can fall to the surface of the Earth when a portion of air in the atmosphere becomes saturated with water. That precipitation facilitates weathering and erosion, two surface processes that gradually reduce huge rocks to smaller ones, thus bridging the hydrosphere and the geosphere.
