Many people experience prejudice based on their physical appearance. These experiences can be very negative and have a lasting effect on the individual. These experiences shape those individuals and can be used as influential moments of their lives. I had an experience at my church where I was mistreated for my height. I walked away from this experience very broken and hurt. I wondered why people felt the need to tear others down for their own personal gain. Standing up for oneself is of utmost importance in the fight against prejudice. Here's my account of an experience with prejudice
Mistreating somebody for an asset or characteristic that they cant control is unfair and cruel, It can lead that person to self destructive habits and depression. When I was mistreated, I felt unwanted and unenjoyable. When somebody feels unwanted, it can drive that person to be something they're not and then they build false expectations for themselves. When that person realizes that they can't do what they've demanded of themselves, It forces more depression upon them until finally they just shut down. This was not the case for me, but It was very similar.
When a person feels the need to tear others down, it is usually because they feel that it makes them appear better than they are. The person that was mistreating me probably did it to look cool. Not only is it unacceptable for mistreatment of others, but it's no better for the victim to shut down. If all we do is run and hide from our problems, how are we any better than the accuser? The answer is simple, we're not. So in the future, We should all stand up for what we think is right, but we should also make sure to not shove our opinions down others throats.
Standing up for yourself is a key factor to oppose prejudice, but it is man's inherent nature to overreact when defending oneself. With this in mind, we can move forward and stand up for what's right without hurting others in the process. My experience with standing up for myself involved help from friends, family, and anybody who thought what I was experiencing was wrong and unjust. Don't be afraid to ask for help from friends and family, they are your guides.
In the end, we can't control what other people say, think, or do. Whether it affects us or not we have to stand for what's right and just. In our case, We need to stand up against prejudice

Read "The Old Man and his Grandson" by The Brothers Grimm. Then, answer the question that follows.
There was once a very old man, whose eyes had become dim, his ears dull of hearing, his knees trembled, and when he sat at table he could hardly hold the spoon, and spilt the broth upon the table-cloth or let it run out of his mouth. His son and his son's wife were disgusted at this, so the old grandfather at last had to sit in the corner behind the stove, and they gave him his food in an earthenware bowl, and not even enough of it. And he used to look towards the table with his eyes full of tears. Once, too, his trembling hands could not hold the bowl, and it fell to the ground and broke. The young wife scolded him, but he said nothing and only sighed. Then they brought him a wooden bowl for a few half-pence, out of which he had to eat.
They were once sitting thus when the little grandson of four years old began to gather together some bits of wood upon the ground.
"What are you doing there?" asked the father.
"I am making a little trough," answered the child, "for father and mother to eat out of when I am big."
The man and his wife looked at each other for a while, and presently began to cry. Then they took the old grandfather to the table, and henceforth always let him eat with them, and likewise said nothing if he did spill a little of anything.

Explanation:
How do you think this line might be prophetic: “how dreadful it is when the right judge judges wrong”
“How dreadful it is when the right judge judges wrong!” is a quote by
Sophocles, that Sentry quoted in play he wrote called Antigone.
Anyone who judges puts themselves in a position to err. In this play, Creon is repeatedly admonished not to carry out his vengeance against the deceased Polyneices.
When he declares that the dead prince shouldn't be buried, he makes a bad judgment. Ironically, despite his conviction that he is correct, his hubris ultimately costs him both his son and wife, as well as his intended daughter-in-law. He makes a bad choice, and he pays the price for it.
Why does the sentry complain about how awful it is when the correct judge renders a bad decision?
The statement is effectively conveyed because the word "judge" is employed as both a noun and a verb, with the former denoting a position of legitimate power. The Sentry is saying that the person in a position of authority (the "proper judge") makes a terrible decision (or "judges wrong").
