If the story was written in the third-person omniscient point of view, we would have known from the beginning that Landlady had bad intentions, as shown in option A.

We can arrive at this answer because:

The story is told from the first-person point of view, allowing the narrator to be Billy. In this case, we only know what Billy knows, as he only narrates what he sees.Billy doesn't know Landlady has bad intentions and neither do we.

However, if the story were told from the third-person omniscient point of view, we would have access to all the characters' thoughts and knowledge right from the start. If so, we would know that Landlady had bad intentions from the start.

Explanation:

You have to enter your home address so they can send your things to the correct place.

What is address?

Address is defined as where a person lives or works and where letters can be addressed, including the address of their home, the name of their street, and the name of their town. To open a bank account and to register to vote, you need an address. A valid address is also required to register children for school and to obtain a driver's license. To obtain a passport and have a secure location to call home, you must have an address.

An address is a crucial component of a customer's identity. A cargo being delivered to the wrong address or communication being postally coded improperly due to inaccurate address information may irritate customers, lead to lost sales opportunities, erode customer loyalty, and damage a brand's reputation.

Answer:

When online learning becomes more common and more and more resources are converted to digital form, some people have suggested that public libraries should be shut down and, in their place, everyone should be given an iPad with an e-reader subscription.

Proponents of this idea state that it will save local cities and towns money because libraries are expensive to maintain. They also believe it will encourage more people to read because they won’t have to travel to a library to get a book; they can simply click on what they want to read and read it from wherever they are. They could also access more materials because libraries won’t have to buy physical copies of books; they can simply rent out as many digital copies as they need.

However, it would be a serious mistake to replace libraries with tablets. First, digital books and resources are associated with less learning and more problems than print resources. A study done on tablet vs book reading found that people read 20-30% slower on tablets, retain 20% less information, and understand 10% less of what they read compared to people who read the same information in print. Additionally, staring too long at a screen has been shown to cause numerous health problems, including blurred vision, dizziness, dry eyes, headaches, and eye strain, at much higher instances than reading print does. People who use tablets and mobile devices excessively also have a higher incidence of more serious health issues such as fibromyalgia, shoulder and back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and muscle strain. I know that whenever I read from my e-reader for too long, my eyes begin to feel tired and my neck hurts. We should not add to these problems by giving people, especially young people, more reasons to look at screens.

Second, it is incredibly narrow-minded to assume that the only service libraries offer is book lending. Libraries have a multitude of benefits, and many are only available if the library has a physical location. Some of these benefits include acting as a quiet study space, giving people a way to converse with their neighbors, holding classes on a variety of topics, providing jobs, answering patron questions, and keeping the community connected. One neighborhood found that, after a local library instituted community events such as play times for toddlers and parents, job fairs for teenagers, and meeting spaces for senior citizens, over a third of residents reported feeling more connected to their community. Similarly, a Pew survey conducted in 2015 found that nearly two-thirds of American adults feel that closing their local library would have a major impact on their community. People see libraries as a way to connect with others and get their questions answered, benefits tablets can’t offer nearly as well or as easily.

While replacing libraries with tablets may seem like a simple solution, it would encourage people to spend even more time looking at digital screens, despite the myriad issues surrounding them. It would also end access to many of the benefits of libraries that people have come to rely on. In many areas, libraries are such an important part of the community network that they could never be replaced by a simple object.

Read the excerpt from Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass.

If any one thing in my experience, more than another, served to deepen my conviction of the infernal character of slavery, and to fill me with unutterable loathing of slaveholders, it was their base ingratitude to my poor old grandmother. She had served my old master faithfully from youth to old age. She had been the source of all his wealth; she had peopled his plantation with slaves; she had become a great-grandmother in his service. She had rocked him in infancy, attended him in childhood, served him through life, and at his death wiped from his icy brow the cold death-sweat, and closed his eyes forever.

Douglass’s purpose in this excerpt is to

A: praise the kindness and faithfulness of his grandmother.

B: mourn the death of a master who had been kind to him.

C: provide an example of the torment enslaved persons endure.

D: argue that enslaved persons should be set free when their master dies.

Over the past ten years more than two dozen athletes have died from the medical condition known as heatstroke. Heatstroke occurs when the body's internal temperature becomes soelevated that its cooling system begins shutting down. Who is most at risk? Surprisingly, it is younger athletes. They often either do not recognize or ignore the warning signs until it's toolate. To make matters worse, children's bodies are much less efficient than adults at cooling themselves. A promising new product hopes to end the all too common heatstroke trend. It iscalled a thermometer pill2 While it doesn't look much different from the average vitamin capsule, the work it does inside the body is truly amazing. Once ingested these capsules send an internal bodytemperature reading to a portable device that is not much bigger than an iPhone. A coach or professional trainer monitors the device during practices or events held when temperaturesand heat indexes are particularly high. If an athlete's body temperature reaches a dangerous level, the monitor immediately transmits an alert. The player is then rushed indoors andplaced in an ice bath to rapidly decrease his or her body temperature. This is important, since internal organs can begin shutting down at 105 degrees Fahrenheit5 While these tiny lifesavers have proven to be effective, they are quite expensive.
