Explanation:
What is the narrator’s real motivation for treating Margie to the pleasures of the carnival? At what point in the story did you as a reader discover George’s motivation? As you began reading the story, did you have other explanations for his behavior? If so, what did you believe at first? Why?
The Carnival Comprehension.
The narrator's real motivation for treating Margie to the pleasures of the carnival is the fact that he lost his daughter, who, apparently, was kidnapped.
What is motivation? When we talk about a character's motivation in literature, we mean his or her reason to do something. In the story "Carnival" by Scott Atkinson, the narrator is George. He meets a girl, Margie, at a carnival and begins to pay for everything - rides, ice cream, games.
Let's answer the questions about George's motivation:
George's real motivation for treating Margie to the pleasures of the carnival is the fact that he has lost a daughter. Apparently, his daughter was kidnapped and never seen again. George seems to be afraid that Margie, being alone, could be at risk as well.We have a glimpse of George's motivation when he says he is always on the look out for creeps. We confirm his motivation when he mentions imagining "her" - the daughter -, the man approaching her, and how she reacted.Since George's motivation is not clear at first, there are many other explanations for his behavior. He could have been an undercover cop, or he could have been a creep himself. You can say you believed George was an undercover cop who, upon seeing a young girl alone, thought it was his duty to protect her.The information above correct answers the questions about George's motivation.

When I got up to work today, I can't imagine how scared I would be, because the accident at work that hurt my colleagues was a little scary, but we knew it would happen sooner or later.
The day started normally and when I arrived at my workplace I wasn't even scared by the noise and excess heat of the environment. I'm used to it after the eight-hour workday I've been following for an year.
The thing that rocked my routine happened when I heard screams of pain coming from the back of the room. I ran to see what happened when I came across two colleagues who had suffered massive burns and were in a lot of pain.
The burn came from the machines we work with, which get extremely hot when they are working. We don't have any equipment to protect us from that, which shows that this kind of accident would happen at any time.
Fortunately, my colleagues received medical care, which took a long time to arrive, but my friends were helped and needed to spend a few days at home to recover.
