I have to write a biography for Spanish 3 and the intro must use saber and conocer. I understand the difference between the two but I don’t understand how I should write it. I’m writing about Selena Gomez, but every-time I try to use saber and conocer it doesn’t sound right.
Answer:
I hope this helps, and if you have any questions I am here to help :)
Explanation:
Even for Spanish being my 1st language the conjuction "saber" is rather odd, so I understand how it can be a weird word. "Saber" means to know information, and "conocer" also means to know, but "conocer" is more for when you are familiar with something or someone.
For example, if I were to say "Yo la conozco" that would mean "I know her".
Since "saber" is for information and not people I would say, "Yo se de futbol." Which would translate to, "I know about football (soccer)".
I hope that makes the words seem less weird.
Also, I know Spanish classes use these so:
Yo conozco Vosotros conoceis
Tu conoces Nosotros conocemos
El/Ella conoce Ellos/Ellas conocen
Yo se Vosotros sabeis
Tu sabes Nosotros sabemos
El/ella sabe Ellos/Ellas saben

Answer:
the stone food
We walked 1440 meters to the south of the cave and found another room. That room had a very large table. There were six statues around the stone table. The table was set and had stone dishes. In the center of the table there was also stone food. There were small round shapes that looked like some kind of fruit, like cherries. Others were round too but bigger like grapefruits. When lifting the largest stones, huge snakes came out. My father and I ran fast to escape from that place. We saw a very large stone gate. Conclusion
At the word "open" the large stone gate swung open and we hurried through before it closed.

Note that these answer choices constitute all the possible indefinite articles in the Spanish language.

_____
Other note: One expection in the Spanish language:
For Spanish words in that begin with the Spanish a as the first syllable, the single, noun form, for the indefinite article is "el" , and the single noun, indefinite article is "un" —by convention—since otherwise the pronunciation would be difficult to comprehend}.
Examples: El agua as divertida. La usamos para cocinar.
water—el agua (feminine);
Africa—el África (feminine):
soul—el alama (feminine).
