Answer 1

B. The location of the Jamestown fortifications does not account for the desperate circumstances early in the Jamestown settlement.

The other factors, such as the colonists' willingness to cooperate, the crops they chose to raise, and their agrarian skills, all played a role in the difficult conditions they faced.I needed a fortress. George Percy reported: "On June 15th we built and completed the triangular fort. "At each corner like a half-moon he had three bulwarks, in which he mounted four or five cannons." but was quickly repaired. The- A. Russian Revolution was not a cause of World War II in Europe.

What was the reason?

While the Russian Revolution did have a significant impact on the geopolitical landscape of Europe, it did not directly lead to the outbreak of war.

The main causes of the war in Europe were the failure of the Treaty of Versailles and the failure of appeasement, which allowed Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany to aggressively expand their territory and violate international agreements without consequences.

how did hitler’s vulnerable position consolidate his power

Answers

Hitler's vulnerable position allowed him to consolidate his power in a few ways. First, he was able to use the Reichstag fire as a pretext to arrest his political opponents and eliminate any opposition to his rule. Second, he was able to use the Enabling Act to pass laws without the approval of the Reichstag, which allowed him to consolidate his power and eliminate any remaining opposition. Finally, he was able to use propaganda and censorship to control the media and shape public opinion, which helped him maintain his power and control over the German people.

Answer:

Let me explain

Explanation:

Hitler's vulnerable position in the early years of his rule allowed him to consolidate his power in several ways:

1. Enabling Act: After the Reichstag fire in February 1933, Hitler used the incident to convince President Hindenburg to pass the Enabling Act, which gave him dictatorial powers to make laws without the approval of the Reichstag. This allowed Hitler to bypass any opposition in the legislature and effectively govern by decree.

2. Purge of Opposition: Hitler used his power to eliminate political opposition. In June 1934, he ordered the purge of the SA (Stormtroopers) leadership in the Night of the Long Knives. This helped to consolidate his control over the party and the military.

3. Propaganda: Hitler used propaganda to promote his image and spread his message. He controlled the media, film industry, and education system to spread his ideology and build a cult of personality around himself. This allowed him to gain popular support and prevent any opposition from gaining traction.

4. Economic Recovery: Hitler's government implemented policies to revive the German economy, which had been devastated by the Great Depression. This included public works projects, military spending, and rearmament. The resulting economic growth and reduction in unemployment helped to strengthen Hitler's position and gain support from the German people.

5. Expansionist Policies: Hitler's aggressive foreign policy and territorial ambitions, which included the annexation of Austria and the occupation of Czechoslovakia, helped to rally the German people behind him and distract them from domestic issues. This helped to consolidate his power and gain support from the military and nationalist elements within society.

Overall, Hitler's vulnerable position in the early years of his rule allowed him to consolidate his power through a combination of legal and extralegal means, propaganda, economic recovery, and expansionist policies.

why did abraham lincoln reject general winfield scott's plan for the war early in 1861?

Answers

In early 1861, General Winfield Scott presented his plan for the Civil War, which he called the "Anaconda Plan."

The plan involved blockading Southern ports to cut off their supply lines and control the Mississippi River to divide the Confederacy. While this plan was viewed as a sound strategy, it was also seen as a long-term approach that could take years to achieve its goals. Lincoln rejected this plan for a few reasons. First, the Union needed to act quickly to preserve its political and military integrity, and the Anaconda Plan was not aggressive enough to achieve that. Second, the plan relied too heavily on naval power, and Lincoln believed that a land-based approach was necessary to win the war. Finally, Lincoln wanted to use the Army to take the fight directly to the Confederacy and capture its capital in Richmond. Lincoln also rejected Scott's plan because it did not address the issue of slavery, which was becoming a critical factor in the war. Lincoln was opposed to slavery and believed that the war was about preserving the Union as a free country. He knew that slavery was the root cause of the conflict and that any plan for victory must address that issue. Scott's plan did not include any provision for freeing the slaves, and so it did not meet Lincoln's requirements for a comprehensive strategy. As a result, Lincoln rejected Scott's plan and developed his own, which was focused on aggressive military action and the eventual abolition of slavery.

How did the following contribute to the reemergence of a two party system in the period 1820 to 1840?

Answers

The period of 1820 to 1840 saw the reemergence of political parties in the United States after a brief hiatus.

This was largely due to several factors such as the expansion of the electorate, the emergence of new political issues, and the changing nature of political campaigning. Additionally, the rise of Andrew Jackson as a political force played a significant role in the development of the two-party system. Jackson's supporters, known as the Democrats, were opposed by the Whig party, which was formed in opposition to Jackson's policies and leadership style.

This led to a polarized political climate, which helped to solidify the two-party system that still exists in the United States today. The period of 1820 to 1840 was therefore instrumental in the development of the two-party system, as it saw the emergence of new political forces, ideas, and ideologies that continue to shape American politics today.

Attack of the B-29's

Throughout most of World War 2, particularly in the European Theater, the B-17 Flying Fortress had been the workhorse of the United States Airforce, dropping almost half

of the total bombs on Germany throughout the War. However, it would be Boeing's B-29 Superfortress that would eventually make the biggest impact on the Pacific Theater.

Iwo Jima

After a successful campaign in the Philippines, the United States was left to plan an invasion of Japan. Since such an invasion would require significant assets and required significant planning and staging. In the meantime, US command decided to take the small island of Iwo Jima. Iwo Jima was a strategically located island about halfway between Japan and the nearest US controlled islands. It could have potentially given the Japanese a place to refuel their shorter-range aircraft, and been used to help protect Japan from attack by the slow B-29 Superfortresses that were being used in bombing runs on Japan. In hindsight, since Japan didn't have the fuel or aircraft to effectively use any aircraft against the United States by that point in the war, Iwo Jima had more value on paper than in reality.

B-29's were able to carry large payloads of bombs, and fly very long distances. Their massive size and the height at which they flew made them difficult to shoot down.

Amid all of these considerations, Truman authorized the use of nuclear weapons against Japan. On August 6th, 1945 the Enola Gay, a B-29 Superfortress from the United States of America used the first nuclear weapon against an enemy by bombing the city of Hiroshima. Truman warned the Japanese that if they did not surrender, further attacks would occur. Three days later with no Japanese response, another B-29, Bockscar, dropped the last nuclear weapon ever used against an enemy was dropped by the United States of America on Nagasaki. Both cities were devastated, with around 100,000 citizens killed, most of them civilians. At that point, Emperor Hirohito, who had been opposed by many of his own military commanders, announced that Japan would surrender. On September 2nd, 1945, Japan officially surrendered to the United States of America aboard the USS Missouri. World War 2 had ended, but a new Cold War had already begun.

what was the first state admitted to the union after the original 13 colonies?

The first state to be admitted to the Union after the original 13 colonies was Vermont.

Vermont was originally settled by French and English colonists in the early 18th century, and was claimed by both New Hampshire and New York. The dispute over Vermont's territory was eventually settled in 1791, when Vermont was admitted to the Union as the 14th state. Vermont's admission to the Union was significant because it was the first state to be admitted that was not one of the original 13 colonies. Vermont was also significant because it was the first state to abolish slavery in its constitution. Vermont's constitution was written in 1777, and declared that "all men are born equally free and independent, and have certain natural, inherent, and unalienable rights." in the twelfth century, england developed, and came to be governed by, what law?

In the twelfth century, England developed and came to be governed by the common law. This was a legal system based on judicial decisions and customs rather than on written laws or codes.

Common law evolved from the practices of the royal courts of justice and became the law of the land under the reign of King Henry II. Judges in these courts were authorized to make decisions based on previous court rulings and local customs. Common law was adopted by other countries that were part of the British Empire and became an important legal system in many parts of the world.

Common law allowed for more flexibility and discretion in legal rulings, and it also established the idea of judicial review, in which judges were empowered to review and declare laws unconstitutional. This laid the foundation for the development of modern constitutional law. Over time, the common law system in England became more structured and formalized, with the creation of higher courts and the establishment of legal precedents.
