Both sight lines and organizational lines _____

A. Are implied lines

B.Organize composition

C.Indicate three-dimensional form

D.Can imply movement

Answers

Answer:

The answer is C

Explanation:

Both sight lines and organizational lines are implied lines, organize composition, and indicate the three-dimensional form. Thus, Options (A), (B) & (C) are correct.

Both sight lines and organizational lines can be implied lines. Implied lines are lines that are not physically present in the artwork but are suggested by the arrangement of elements or the direction of the subjects. In this context, sight lines and organizational lines can create a sense of continuity and flow, even if they are not explicitly drawn.

Sight lines guide the viewer's eye and direct their attention to specific areas, while organizational lines assist in creating structure and balance within the artwork.

Sight lines are implied lines that guide the viewer’s eye through the image, showing what is important in the painting. Organizational lines, on the other hand, can help to organize the composition and indicate three-dimensional form.

Thus, Options (A), (B) & (C) apply to both sight lines and organizational lines.

what type of lines are shown in this work i feel like its expressive but, im kinda confused as well because the direction that the animals are looking in could be implied lines.

Answers

The lines seen in this image can be classified as implicit and explicit.

What is seen in the image?

In the image, a woman (Frida Kalho) is seen in the foreground with a background of plant leaves. On her shoulders is a monkey (right shoulder) and a cat (left shoulder). She additionally has a necklace that is shaped like the roots of a plant from which a hummingbird hangs.

What kind of lines can we distinguish in this image?

In this image two types of lines can be distinguished:

Explicit lines: Explicit lines are all the lines that serve as a contour for the shapes we see in an image. In this case, the lines would be all the contours of the leaves in the background, the woman's face, her body, the animals, her necklace, the bird that hangs from her necklace, among others.Implicit lines: In the composition of an image there are also implicit lines, a type of lines that we cannot perceive with our eyes, but we can interpret in the composition of the image. For example, in this image we can distinguish an "imaginary" line that is made between the gaze of the animals and the objects that are being observed, giving the illusion that their gaze is fixed on a particular object.

According to the above, the image is composed of implicit and explicit lines.

THE MATCH

There never was a time when the world was without fire, but there was a time when men did not know how to kindle fire; and after they learned how to kindle one, it was a long, long time before they learned how to kindle one easily. In these days we can kindle a fire without any trouble, because we can easily get a match; but we must remember that the match is one of the most wonderful things in the world, and that it took men thousands of years to learn how to make one. Let us learn the history of this familiar little object, the match.

Fire was first given to man by nature itself. When a forest is set on fire by cinders from a neighboring volcano, or when a tree is set ablaze by a thunderbolt, we may say that nature strikes a match. In the early history of the world, nature had to kindle all the fires, for man by his own effort was unable to produce a spark. The first method, then, of getting fire for use was to light sticks of wood at a flame kindled by nature—by a volcano, perhaps, or by a stroke of lightning. These firebrands were carried to the home and used in kindling the fires there. The fire secured in this way was carefully guarded and was kept burning as long as possible. But the flame, however faithfully watched, would sometimes be extinguished. A sudden gust of wind or a sudden shower would put it out. Then a new firebrand would have to be secured, and this often meant a long journey and a deal of trouble.

In 1827, John Walker, a druggist in a small English town, tipped a splint with sulphur, chlorate of potash, and sulphid of antimony, and rubbed it on sandpaper, and it burst into flame. The druggist had discovered the first friction-chemical match, the kind we use to-day. It is called friction-chemical because it is made by mixing certain chemicals together and rubbing them. Although Walker's match did not require the bottle of acid, nevertheless it was not a good one. It could be lighted only by hard rubbing, and it sputtered and threw fire in all directions. In a few years, however, phosphorus was substituted on the tip for antimony, and the change worked wonders. The match could now be lighted with very little rubbing, and it was no longer necessary to have sandpaper upon which to rub it. It would ignite when rubbed on any dry surface, and there was no longer any sputtering. This was the phosphorus match, the match with which we are so familiar.

Which line from the text shows the problem with the first matches? (5 points)

A sudden gust of wind or a sudden shower would put it out.
It could be lighted only by hard rubbing, and it sputtered and threw fire in all directions.
It is called friction-chemical because it is made by mixing certain chemicals together and rubbing them.

The first woman as a bringer of evil
OA and C only
B only

Answers

The correct option is A. Prometheus as a cultural hero is an archetypal theme of the stories surrounding the gods and Hellenism.

Why was Prometheus considered a hero?

Prometheus is well known for challenging the gods by taking their fire and transferring it to humanity in the form of science, knowledge, and civilization in general. He is also credited for creating humanity out of clay in various mythologies.

Hesiod's narrative thus emphasizes the importance of Prometheus as a cultural icon. Not only the cultures of Ancient Greece viewed the trickster as a cultural changer or hero. Even while tricksters from other mythical systems are very distinct from one another in many respects, they frequently have this trait in common.

Thus, A is the best choice. The concept of Prometheus as a cultural hero is a recurring one in tales about the gods and Hellenism.

In one part of the letter, Afonso referred to nossos filhos, parentes e naturaes (our children, relatives, and natives [citizens]), while elsewhere in the same letter he complained that slave traders were taking away his naturaes forros (free citizens). Afonsos language leaves no doubt that Kongo had a group of freeborn commoners. In fact, in a 1529 letter that King Joo III of Portugal wrote to Afonso in response to complaints Afonso had made about the illegal enslavement of freeborn Kongos, the king referred to naturaes ou de fora (citizens or outsiders [foreigners]) in summarizing the complaint that Afonso had made about who could be enslaved and who could not be. ...Indeed, the majority of the slaves Kongo exported during Afonsos reign and for the rest of the sixteenth century were foreign captives obtained from wars Kongo kings and their Portuguese allies waged against the neighboring Mbundu kingdom of Ndongo or in the region of Pamzelungu across the mouth of the Zaire River, as well as the Anzico region around the Malebo Pool (formerly Stanley Pool) on the river. ... Moreover, in a 1529 letter written by the Portuguese king, Joo III, to Afonso, Joo noted that he had heard that no slave ever leaves the country [Kongo] and went on to add that he had been told that slaves are ordered to be bought outside. ...Afonso facilitated the trade in slaves by establishing secure markets where Portuguese factors could conduct their business and where his representatives could sell war captives to them. Thus Afonso could continue selling foreign captives and still respect local customs about who could be enslaved.Kongo did support a slave population, however, for Afonso noted in his 1514 letter that he had retained some of the slaves he had captured. Besides the foreign captives whom Afonso held as slaves, he and later sixteenth-century kings and other members of the monarchy also held as slaves people born in Kongo who had been condemned for various kinds of crimes. Here, however, rules existed that limited opportunities for the enslavement of freeborn Kongos as well as restricted their sale. ...Kongo also had rules that restricted the selling of Kongo subjects. For example in 1526 Afonso wrote to the Portuguese king, Joo III, noting that the numbers of Portuguese traders bringing goods into Kongo had increased and that they were selling their goods directly to unscrupulous Kongo noblemen who no longer relied on him to supply the imports. He complained that some of his vassals were conniving with the Portuguese and were enslaving Kongo subjects, even noblemen. ...The dilemma that the Kongo leadership faced was that, in order to enforce the laws concerning who could be enslaved, Kongo needed to remain a strong state.
