Women, gay people, and both religious and ethnic minorities are oppressed and restricted in many ways from pursuing what makes them happy. Although America has made notable improvements, and we have managed to avoid a tyranny since the country has been founded, there are many improvements that need to be made in order to change our country so that it can abide by the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence.
