Which best describes omniscient narration?
A. Narration that avoids using pronouns when referring to characters
B. Narration that moves freely between characters and locations
C. Narration that focuses exclusively on the story's main conflict
OD. Narration that intentionally breaks the traditional rules of fiction

Answers

Omniscient  narration is characterized by its ability to move freely between different characters and locations, and to provide insights into their thoughts, feelings, and motivations. Option B

Omniscient narration is a literary technique in which the narrator has complete knowledge and awareness of all the events, characters, and settings in the story.

The omniscient narrator is not a character in the story, but rather an unseen observer who can access the minds and perspectives of all the characters.

Unlike limited omniscience, where the narrator only has access to the thoughts and feelings of one or a few characters, the omniscient narrator can see and know everything that is happening in the story.

This perspective allows the narrator to provide a comprehensive understanding of the story's events, and to offer insights into the larger themes and conflicts at play.

Omniscient narration is a powerful tool for writers, as it allows them to create complex and multi-layered stories that explore a wide range of characters and settings.

However, it requires a skilled and careful hand, as it can easily become confusing or overwhelming if not used effectively.

Overall, omniscient narration is a valuable technique for writers who wish to explore the full range of human experience and emotion in their stories. So Option B is correct.

O Washington argues for slow social change based on economic contributions, while Du Bois shows that this has not worked.

Washington's argument emphasizes the importance of economic progress and self-improvement through education and hard work as the means for achieving social equality. He believes that the focus should be on preparing Black people for the exercise of their rights, rather than on demanding them immediately. On the other hand, Du Bois argues that economic progress alone is not sufficient for achieving true equality, and that Black people must also fight for their political and social rights through activism and protest. He criticizes Washington's approach for being too passive and for ignoring the realities of racial discrimination and oppression.

The labor practices of the fast food industry have their origins in the assembly line systems adopted by American manufacturers in the early twentieth century. Business historian Alfred D. Chandler has argued that a high rate of “throughput” was the most important aspect of these mass production systems. A factory’s throughput is the speed and volume of its flow — a much more crucial measurement, according to Chandler, than the number of workers it employs or the value of its machinery. With innovative technology and the proper organization, a small number of workers can produce an enormous amount of goods cheaply. Throughput is all about increasing the speed of assembly, about doing things faster in order to make more.

Although the McDonald brothers had never encountered the term “throughput” or studied “scientific management,” they instinctively grasped the underlying principles and applied them in the Speedee Service System. The restaurant operating scheme they developed has been widely adopted and refined over the past half century. The ethos of the assembly line remains at its core. The fast food industry’s obsession with throughput has altered the way millions of Americans work, turned commercial kitchens into small factories, and changed familiar foods into commodities that are manufactured.
