Answer 1

[tex]\bold{\huge{\underline{ Answer }}}[/tex]

Soil pollutants are substances which contaminates the soil. Soil pollutants are very harmful substances ,they makes the soil toxic . The presence of these substances in higher concentration directly affects the ecosystem, earth etc.

Here are some major soil pollutants :-

1) Industrial wastes

Industrial wastes are the common soil pollutants. The discharge of industrial waste in the soil makes it very toxic and directly affects the growth of plants (agriculture) .Industrial waste also affects the life of some organisms like earth worms which makes the soil more fertile.

2) Pesticides

Pesticides are the substances which are generally used to kill the pestes. It includes Insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. The higher concentration of pesticides in cropfield directly affects the human health and responsible for soil pollution, water pollution etc.

3) Hydrocarbons

Hydrocarbons are the substances which are composed of hydrogen and carbon. Only some hydrocarbons are responsible for soil pollution as they are very harmful for living organisms. for example the most harmful hydrocarbons is PAHs ( Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) .PAHs in soil affects the growth of plants and it is indirectly responsible for the cancer in humans.

4) Metals

Most of the people don't know that the higher concentration of some metals makes the soil very toxic . The concentration of these metals in soil directly kills the human beings and other living organisms.

5) Non - biodegradable substances

Most people throw the trash in the soil even they know that soil can't degrade the non - biodegradable substances. When these non - biodegradable wastes eaten by street animals it directly affects the health of those animals and disturbs the ecosystem.

6) Human activities

Some people really don't care about the environment. They always do ,what they want to do without even thinking about its consequences on the environment. They throw Cigrattes in the soil, Drop alcohol in soil .These activities makes the soil toxic and the crops that are grown in contaminated soil directly affects the human health.

7) Acid rain

It is major reason for the contamination of soil. Some people thought that, It is the natural cause of soil pollution but that's not the reality. Humans are the one's who are responsible for acid rain. Contamination of these acids makes the soil very toxic that it kills the plants on the spot.

The benefits of stem cell research are associated with the development of specialized cell lines.

What are stem cells?

Stem cells are pluripotent cells that can be used to develop virtually any type of specialized cellular type.

These cells (stem cells) have the ability to self-renew and thus generate germinal layers present in an embryo.

Stem cells are used in research to investigate how certain gene expression patterns determine the formation of certain cellular types.

impulse, presynaptic cell, neurotransmitters, receptors, postsynaptic cell
What idea can be described using all the words listed?
O the difference between the somatic and autonomic nervous systems
O the transfer of information from one neuron to another
O the difference between the central and peripheral nervous systems
O the flow of information within a neuron

Answers

Answer:

Answer is B

Explanation:

The idea that can be described using all the words listed is "the transfer of information from one neuron to another".

What is impulse?

The term "impulse" refers to the electrical signal that travels down a neuron, while the term "presynaptic cell" refers to the neuron that sends the signal.

"Neurotransmitters" are chemicals released by presynaptic cells in order to send a signal to the next neuron.

The "receptors" on the surface of the postsynaptic cell are proteins that bind to neurotransmitters and receive the signal.

Finally, the "postsynaptic cell" is the neuron that receives the presynaptic cell's signal.

Thus, these terms describe the process of information transmission from one neuron to another across a synapse, the tiny gap between two neurons.

Which phase of cell division is shown?
O prophase
O anaphase
telophase
O metaphase

Answers

Answer: I don't have the picture you're looking at, but I can try to give you some clues to help you out.

Prophase is where the chromatids enter the cell and the chromosomes attach to the spindle fibers in the cell.

Metaphase: all of the chromosomes line up in the center of the cell (I use this trick I made up to remember this one: The chromosome will have Met the teacher's expectations when they line up in the center of the cell.)

Telophase: is where the sister chromatids go to opposite sides of the cell right before they split

Anaphase is when they finally split and are now classified as two different cells. One parent cell and one daughter cell.

Explain why Neil Shubin thinks Tiktaalik says something about our own bodies? (in other words – why the Inner Fish title for the book?)

Answers

Answer:

Neil Shubin bases his argument that the anatomy of Tiktaalik is relevant to that of humans by discussing specific features of the anatomy of Tiktaalik that vary from typical fish anatomy and correspond to features of the human body. For example, he points out that Tiktaalik has a neck that is able to bend independently of the rest of the body, unlike fish, and like all terrestrial vertebrates, including humans. Therefore, the evolutionary history of humans can be traced to an organism similar to Tiktaalik, resulting in the concept of the "inner fish."
