The correct text in the passage that best builds on the idea of the power of disguise is this:

ROSALIND: But are you so much in love as your rhymes speak?

Which text in the passage builds on the power of disguise?

The text in the passage that best builds on the power of disguise is the selected statement by Rosalind above. In this selected text, we can see that Rosalind questioned the love that Orlando claimed to have for her. Somehow, she did not really believe that his love was commensurate to the rhymes he wrote for her.

Her words in this text brought to light the power of disguise. So, while Orlando had claimed to profess love for her by his words, he may not actually have meant it and would thus be deceiving it. So, this statement by Rosalind builds on the power of disguise

essay on importance of time management for students?

Answers

Essay:

Time management is an essential skill for students to develop in order to succeed academically and in their personal lives. Time management involves setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and making effective use of the time available to achieve these goals.

One of the most important aspects of time management for students is setting goals. By setting specific, measurable, and realistic goals, students can ensure that they are working towards something meaningful and achievable. This can help to motivate students and give them a sense of direction and purpose. Additionally, setting goals can help students to prioritize their tasks, allowing them to focus on the most important and time-sensitive tasks first.

Another important aspect of time management for students is prioritizing tasks. This involves identifying the most important and time-sensitive tasks and focusing on them first. By prioritizing tasks, students can ensure that they are working on the most important and pressing tasks, rather than getting bogged down by less important tasks. This can help students to be more productive and efficient with their time.

Effective use of time is also crucial for students. This includes using time-saving techniques, such as taking notes during lectures, using flashcards to study, and breaking down large tasks into smaller, manageable tasks. Additionally, students should also make use of tools such as calendars, to-do lists, and alarms to help them stay on track and manage their time more effectively.

In conclusion, time management is a crucial skill for students to develop in order to succeed academically and in their personal lives. By setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and making effective use of the time available, students can ensure that they are working towards something meaningful and achievable, and that they are able to accomplish their goals in a timely and efficient manner.

Read the following passage carefully before you choose your answer.

This passage is taken from a nineteenth-century speech given in Massachusetts after the conviction of a fugitive slave.1

(1) I walk toward one of our ponds; but what signifies the beauty of nature when men are base? We walk to lakes to see our serenity reflected in them; when we are not serene, we go not to them. Who can be serene in a country where both the rulers and the ruled are without principle? The remembrance of my country spoils my walk. My thoughts are murder to the State, and involuntarily go plotting against her.

(2) But it chanced the other day that I scented a white water-lily, and a season I had waited for had arrived. It is the emblem of purity. It bursts up so pure and fair to the eye, and so sweet to the scent, as if to show us what purity and sweetness reside in, and can be extracted from, the slime and muck of earth. I think I have plucked the first one that has opened for a mile. What confirmation of our hopes is in the fragrance of this flower! I shall not so soon despair of the world for it, notwithstanding slavery, and the cowardice and want of principle of Northern men. It suggests what kind of laws have prevailed longest and widest, and still prevail, and that the time may come when man's deeds will smell as sweet. Such is the odor which the plant emits. If Nature can compound this fragrance still annually, I shall believe her still young and full of vigor, her integrity and genius unimpaired, and that there is virtue even in man, too, who is fitted to perceive and love it. It reminds me that Nature has been partner to no Missouri Compromise. I scent no compromise in the fragrance of the water-lily. It is not a Nymphoea Douglasii.2 In it, the sweet, and pure, and innocent are wholly sundered from the obscene and baleful. I do not scent in this the time-serving irresolution of a Massachusetts Governor, nor of a Boston Mayor. So behave that the odor of your actions may enhance the general sweetness of the atmosphere, that when we behold or scent a flower, we may not be reminded how inconsistent your deeds are with it; for all odor is but one form of advertisement of a moral quality, and if fair actions had not been performed, the lily would not smell sweet. The foul slime stands for the sloth and vice of man, the decay of humanity; the fragrant flower that springs from it, for the purity and courage which are immortal.

(3) Slavery and servility have produced no sweet-scented flower annually, to charm the senses of men, for they have no real life: they are merely a decaying and a death, offensive to all healthy nostrils. We do not complain that they live, but that they do not get buried. Let the living bury them: even they are good for manure.

1The Fugitive Slave Act was passed by the United States Congress in 1850. It required that all escaped slaves were returned to their masters even if they were discovered in a free state. Assisting or helping hide fugitive slaves became a federal offense with prison time and fines.

2A reference to Senator Stephen A. Douglas, the primary author of the Compromise of 1850, which included the Fugitive Slave Act. A water lily's botanical name is Nymphaea odorata.

The writer is working on a new version of the passage and wants to include an explicit statement of the passage's thesis. Which of the following would best serve as a thesis statement for the passage? (5 points)
Nature confirms the ability for beauty to spring forth from death and decay; we simply need to let the slavery that plagues our society die.
Only our relationship with nature is truly free from any form of slavery, whether it be physical, mental, forced, or self-inflicted.
To truly appreciate the nature of man, one must go directly to nature, where lakes and flowers can reflect our potential for goodness.
Within nature we can find relationships symbolic of slavery; the flower needs the dirt as much as society needs slavery to thrive.

Can you think of any American artists who adhere to the creed that those in a position to do something to uphold basic human rights must do so? Who are they & what are their goals?

Answers

One famous protest artist who adheres to the creed that those in a position to do something to uphold basic human rights must do so is Dred Scott. Dred Scott was a black slave from the 18th century who was denied his constitutional right to purchase property. His goal was to buy himself freedom. Scott’s slave master died, and he attempted to purchase freedom; however, the principal of judicial review (set by John Marshall) was exercised and extended to a point in which it was blatantly stated that American rights did not apply to blacks and those of African descent. This ruling caused southern states/territories to uphold slavery and implied that Congress didn’t have any right to outlaw slavery in a federal territory (e.g., a pro slavery state).

Answer: Based on the information provided, it seems that Nila demonstrates a strong preference for the "feeling" function.

Explanation:

The 16 Personality Test, also known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), is a personality assessment tool that identifies an individual's personality type based on their preferences in four areas: extraversion vs introversion, sensing vs intuition, thinking vs feeling, and judging vs perceiving.

Based on the information provided, it seems that Nila demonstrates a strong preference for the "feeling" function. The feeling function is one of the four dichotomies of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, it refers to how people make decisions and deal with emotions. People who prefer feeling tend to make decisions based on their personal values and the impact that their choices will have on others. They tend to be empathetic and attuned to the emotions of others, and they may prioritize harmony and compassion in their interactions with others.

Nila's behavior of praising her staff and empathizing with their problems is consistent with the characteristics of individuals who prefer the feeling function. Her actions indicate that she values the well-being and happiness of her staff, and that she is willing to put herself in their shoes to understand their perspective.

Living in a small community can have both advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of living in a small community include:

Strong sense of community: In a small community, everyone knows everyone else, which can lead to a strong sense of community and a sense of belonging.Support network: People in small communities often look out for one another and support each other in times of need.Safety: Small communities often have a lower crime rate and can be considered safer than larger cities.Sense of tradition: Small communities often have a strong sense of tradition and history that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Disadvantages of living in a small community include:

Limited opportunities: Small communities may have limited job opportunities and may not offer the same variety of services and amenities as larger cities.Lack of anonymity: Living in a small community can mean that everyone knows everyone else's business, which can be a disadvantage for people who value their privacy.Limited diversity: Small communities may be less diverse than larger cities, which can limit the exposure of individuals to different cultures and perspectives.Isolation: Small communities may be isolated from larger cities and may not have easy access to the same resources and services.

Examples of small communities can be found in rural areas, where people live far from the city, in a small village or town where people know each other, there is a strong sense of community, and people look out for one another. People who live in such communities often have a strong sense of tradition and history and are often more connected to the natural environment.

Can someone tell me why they support Atticus’ statement/walking in someone else’s shoes to understand them

Answer:

Atticus' statement suggests that in order to truly understand a person, one must try to see the world from their perspective and understand their experiences, thoughts, and feelings. By "climbing into their skin and walking around in it," one can gain a deeper understanding of who they are and why they think and behave the way they do. This can lead to greater empathy and compassion for others, as well as a greater ability to communicate and connect with them on a personal level. Additionally, it can also help to break down stereotypes and assumptions we may have about others and help to promote greater understanding and acceptance of people from diverse backgrounds.

I am so tired today. I woke up early this morning to start my work in the factory, but I was too weak to lift the heavy tools. The guards shouted at me and hit me with their sticks, but I couldn't help it. I am so hungry all the time, and I can't remember the last time I had a full meal. I miss my mother and father so much. I hope they are still alive somewhere.

Diary Entry 2:

I met a new boy today named Bruno. He is from the other side of the fence, where the guards and their families live. He was curious about our side and asked me many questions. At first, I was afraid to talk to him, but he seemed nice and I was glad for the company. He told me about his family and his life before the camp, and I told him about mine. It was nice to talk to someone who doesn't hate us just because we are Jewish.

Bruno came to visit me again today. He brought me some bread and cheese, and I shared it with my friends. It was the first real food I've had in weeks and it tasted so good. Bruno and I talked some more and he told me more about his family. I think he is a good person, but I worry that he doesn't understand what is happening here. He doesn't seem to realize how dangerous it is for him to be talking to me. I hope he is careful.

I didn't know what to say. I don't want to get him in trouble, but I also don't want to lie to him. I hope he can understand how dangerous this is for all of us.

Diary Entry 5:

Monday, June 28th, 1942

I haven't seen Bruno in a few days. I hope he is okay. I am worried that he might have gotten into trouble because of me. I hope he is still my friend and that he is safe.

Answer:

Explanation:

The word synonym to Wetlands is Swamp.

A low-lying land region known as a wetland has hydric soils and aquatic vegetation and is permanently or occasionally inundated with water. Wetlands often consist of marshes, bogs, and swamps. A wetland may experience prolonged dryness, but on average, its water table remains at or near the surface of the soil for a sufficient amount of time every year to sustain aquatic vegetation.

Swamps are wetlands that are covered with trees and have certain kinds of trees and soil. Most of the swamps in the Upper Peninsula and Pictured Rocks are made up of conifers. Northern white cedar, black spruce, and tamarack are the most common trees in these swamps, but balsam fir, eastern hemlock, and white pine could also be important.
