Meimei has lost her strength. She did not remain in silence and ended up offending her mother. Since Meimei is just a child, there is no way she can win. She still needs her mother, her family, her home. Yelling - giving up silence - was her mistake.
The outcome of the conflict is Meimei's mother giving her the cold shoulder. Meimei herself learns another precious lesson: She cannot win, at least for now. But she can plan her next moves for the future, to get away from the woman who is the root of the conflict.
