What evidence supports the idea that the friendship between Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese became a narrative of hope in the fight against racial injustice ?

Answers

Answer:

They show that ignoring differences allows great friendships to be established where everyone can live well and happily.

Explanation:

Jackie and Pee wee had many racial and social differences between them, but ignored all of this, establishing a beneficial friendship between the two, where both protected each other by strengthening the bonds between them and creating happiness for both. The way they both helped and protected each other made the story's narrative an example of hope against social injustice, because it showed that forgetting differences and stimulating coexistence between people, prevented injustices from happening.

can I have some advice for the short story I'm writing part one

Love…? What is that… whats the point in the word love?

Down windowpane, like any other day, small drops of water slowly dripped down colliding along with another small group of water, down it went. I remember it clearly, the fog in the distance when I glanced out the window. I would be on my unmade bed reading a book I just so happened to have picked at the library earlier that day. Romance some may say, only a desperate girl reads, but no that wasn’t the case for me. Love wasn’t something I would go searching for it seems like a weakness in my eyes. Inevitably obsessed with someone, I could only think it would hold you back?..

Each day, after homeschool, I would go to the library. Something about the books and detailed wording filled my heart with desire. Every word would draw me in, every genre every meaning, it all made me feel safe. In a way, I never felt before. The world would go away and it would only be me alone in the pages of a new chapter telling me how the prince slayed a dragon, or how the young boy saved his baby sister from the witch wanting more youth. It just felt right.

Yet this day was different. dragging my fingers along the name of each book. I was unusually and awfully distracted away from the books. Across the bookshelf, was a ravishing girl she reminded me of Florence from The Ghost of Crutchfield Hall… beautiful amber brown hair down past her shoulders brown big eyes, and a black and red striped shirt. I noticed how her hair brushed over her eyes as she read what looked like harry potter the goblet of the fire, yet I wasn’t for sure that was it. Something about this girl made me curious, I watched from a distance as she continued to read her large book. What was it that drew me in? Was this like the undead beings that drawn in beautiful girls to feast on? No that would be silly, those are only stories, a girl my age shouldn’t be filled with that type of childish thoughts.

My heart started pounding out of my chest. She looked me dead in the eyes and smiled at me. Frozen in place I felt a fluttery motion in my stomach and my face heated up. She was so beautiful, like an angelic angel being seen for the first time by humankind. My hands shook as I slightly waved at her. She looked down and chuckled as if she was amused in my shy ways and nervousness I saw her delicate hands close the book and bring it up to her chest holding it in a crossed form. Just admiring her movements I was unable to do a thing.

Taking slow steps this girl strutted up to me as if I wasn’t a complete stranger. ¨well hello, I noticed all your staring, is something wrong?” she asked with a soft and gentle voice my got warmer after hearing that voice of an angel. She tilted her head obviously confused from my silence i somewhat silently sighed stepping back a bit and raised my hands
I swayed my hands creating words with each movement ´I'm sorry for staring at you, you are just very admirable’ unable to talk I had to sign to her only hoping she could understand. Looking up at her with an innocent smile biting my lip.

Giggling this girl smiled ¨thank you, I don’t get compliments very often you seem admirable as well my name is Kamari, what's yours?” she obviously knew exactly what I had said I was so happy she could.

‘My name is Cat!’ my smile grew already starting to fantasize about me and Kamari. Will we be friends, or become more, is she just trying to be nice and is actually creeped out from my staring. What if she actually hates me? Or maybe this is a trap!?

" why should we preserve the Forest ? " into passive voice

only right answer wrong answer reported

Answers

Answer:

"Why should the forest be preserved by us?"

Explanation:

An active voice is when the speech of a person is written or said as it is, with no change. But a passive voice is when the speech is reported to another person with some changes in structure but still retains the same meaning.

In the given active voice question, "Why should we preserve the Forest?", the question tag "why" will remain in the same place. Question tags such as why, who, what, how, etc. remain unchanged in their position in a passive voice. After that, the subject moves to the end of the sentence while the object moves to the subject's position in the sentence. And "we" will be changed into "us".

Thus, the final answer is- "Why should the forest be preserved by us?"

Unit Activity: How Do We Communicate with an Audience? The Group Discussion You will take part in a group discussion. Each group member will deliver his or her presentation, and then the group will discuss each presentation. The discussion will be about the effectiveness of each presentation on the group discussion participants. Later, you will gather feedback on your presentation. A key step in participating in a group discussion is to understand the purpose and process of a group discussion. Your approach to a group discussion will differ from other assignments, such as writing a research paper. Read through the discussion guidelines to understand how you should prepare for a group discussion assignment. Your Discussion Process During the discussion of your presentation, you received feedback about your presentation. This feedback should have included information about qualities such as how well you engaged with your audience in terms of eye contact volume, and pace. It also should have addressed the content of your presentation, meaning how clear your ideas were. Use your analysis notes from Task 1 of this activity to compare your own perception of your presentation with the feedback you received.
Part A: Compare your perceptions of your representation with the feedback you recieved about in a paragraph of about 150 words.
Part B: After this experience, what presentation techniques will you continue to use in future presentations?
Part C: What presentation techniques did you use or see the others use that you will not use in future presentations?
Part D: Describe any new presentation techniques you learned about.
Part F: Did you support the opinions you shared with evidence? Did you provide relevant comments and move the discussion to a deeper level? Explain.
Part G: Did you speak loud and clearly, stay on topic, and talk to other students instead of the teacher?
Part H: Did you listen to others respectfully, and ask productive follow-up questions, and enter the discussion in a polite manner?

Tips for effectively communicating with audience1. Listen first.

Whether addressing a large audience, an individual or even creating a podcast, I have always found that the best way to communicate effectively is to first listen. When you really listen, you build trust with your audience no matter whether it’s large or small.

2. Ask questions.

In my opinion, there is nothing more powerful in terms of communicating and—just as importantly—connecting with someone in person than asking them questions about themselves, and listening. The single greatest people skill is a highly-developed and authentic interest in the other person.

3. Link to what the audience cares about.

My recommendation to effectively communicate with an audience, regardless if it’s one-on-one or speaking to a large group, is to link your ideas with those things the audience already cares about.

4. Keep it simple and focused.

Steve Jobs was famous for his communication style which was simple, understandable, and focused.

We should start with a big, bold, statement to get our attention, and then explain it in a way others would understand.

5. Make phone calls.

My top advice for communicating with your audience offline is to pick up the phone. It’s not scalable, but that’s not the point. Make a habit of calling people who are important to you every day. Even a quick voicemail makes a big impression.

6. Know your audience.

People often ask for the #1 tip on public speaking and I tell them, it’s important to know your material inside and out, but it’s still more important to know your audience.

7. Be authentic.

Be authentic, be helpful, and give first. Authenticity is important because people can see through if you try to emulate a different persona or personality. Just be yourself.

8. Focus on specific channels.

There are SO MANY channels that you can use to communicate online—so the key is to focus on the intersection of where your audience is and the channel that you prefer or love the most.

Read the second stanza of the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe.

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; —vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow—sorrow for the lost Lenore—
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore—
Nameless here for evermore.

Which line from the stanza best supports the idea that the speaker was reading at the beginning of the poem?

A. "Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—"

B "As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door."

C."While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,"

D."Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,"

Which sentence should be revised to improve this paragraph’s sentence fluency?
sentence 1
sentence 2
sentence 3
sentence 4

Answers

Answer:

I think it's: The third sentence should be revised

Explanation:

The sentence that should be revised to improve this paragraph's sentence fluency is sentence 3: "Previously, only amateur players were allowed to participate such as college athletes."

What is fluency?

Sentence fluency is a trait of good writing that refers to the rhythm, flow, and structure of sentences in a written work.

To increase the sentence fluidity of this paragraph, sentence 3 should be changed. "Previously, only amateur players, such as college athletes, were permitted to compete."

The construction of this statement is clunky, and it may be rewritten to make it more fluid.

The following could be changed: "Prior to this year, participation was limited to amateur players, such as college athletes."

Thus, the meaning of the statement remains the same, but the flow and clarity have been improved.
