The similarities that existed in the Athenian and the Roman democracy was that the power was in the hands of the people.
The Governments had similar issues that was based on the lack of money in the gobvernment.
The differences that was in the governments was that the system in Rome was one that had to do with how wealthy a person was in Rome. This was not the case in Athens.
While all Athenian citizens had the right to vote, Athenian women did not have that right, unlike Roman citizens.
What is democracy?In a democratic system of government, the people own the ultimate authority and can exercise it either directly or indirectly through a system of representation that often includes regular free elections.
Rome's government was a republic, as opposed to Athens' democracy. Republic was a name for a populist administration. In the sense of Athenian democracy, it was not a democratic system. The Roman Republic was best described as an elected oligarchy since wealthy aristocrats held all of the political power in that city.
