Number 7 is correct

The correct response is number seven for the sentence - "he barista brewed the coffee. he brewed carefully. the coffee was hot".

What is a barista?

A person who makes and serves espresso-based coffee beverages is known as a barista (/brist, -rst/; Italian: [barista]; from the Italian/Spanish for "bartender"). They are often employed by coffee shops.

The term "bartender" (which can refer to either a man or woman) who generally works behind a counter providing hot drinks (like espresso), cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks is known as a "barista" in Italian.

[2] According to Prieto (2021), the term "barista" has been used in writing since 1916 in both Italian and Spanish. [3] English and Spanish speakers' native plurals are baristas, whereas Italian speakers' native plurals are either barista for masculine or barista for feminine (literally meaning "barmaids")

The barista has typically been taught how to handle the equipment and make the coffee in accordance with the roaster's or shop owner's instructions, however more seasoned baristas may have the freedom to experiment or change the recipe. A number of processes must be taken carefully in order to prepare coffee properly, including grinding the beans, extracting the coffee, foaming the milk, and pouring.

Explanation:

The first option could work, but we would need a comma and the option does not include one. Just as I used a comma in the sentence before! When combining two sentences or two parts with a conjunction you usually will need a comma.

The second option looks good! It can help to read them out loud when deciding which makes the most sense.

The third option only adds a comma, it does not use a word to help the two parts flow. This is called a comma splice.

While this option works, it is not necessarily the best. It breaks the sentence into two parts, but it does not have smooth sentence fluency.

The Oval Office: A Place in History
Elizabeth Kibler

1America's presidents have had to make many important decisions during their terms in office. They made many of these important choices in the famous Oval Office. The Oval Office is the private office of the President of the United States of America. Located in the West Wing of the White House, the Oval Office represents the power and responsibility of the president.

2Before President Howard Taft built the original Oval Office, most presidents living in the White House did their work in the room that is now called the Lincoln Bedroom. In 1909, President Taft built the first Oval Office in the West Wing of the White House. Taft built the office because he wanted his staff to have a center from which they could all work. A fire in the West Wing damaged the original Oval Office in 1929. President Herbert Hoover, however, restored the office after the fire. When Franklin Roosevelt became president, he moved the Oval Office to a different section of the West Wing so he could easily enter the office in his wheelchair. President Roosevelt completed the modern Oval Office in 1934, and it has stayed in the same place ever since.

3Although the structure of the office has remained the same, each president has decorated the office in his own way. The style of the room often changes when a new president takes office. The first Oval Office had green drapes and carpeting. Since then, the drapes and carpeting have been many different colors. Presidents also change the arrangement and types of furniture in the office.

4Presidents even have the opportunity to design a special carpet for the Oval Office. The Oval Office carpet includes the Seal of the President of the United States. The seal shows the eagle holding an olive branch, which represents peace, in its right foot, and arrows, which represent strength, in its left foot. A banner above the eagle reads 'e pluribus unum' , a Latin phrase meaning “out of many, one.” Fifty stars representing the fifty states surround the eagle. President George W. Bush’s Oval Office carpet had the seal in the center surrounded by yellow sunbeams.

5One fixture of the modern Oval Office is the Resolute desk. The Resolute desk was a gift from the Queen of England to President Rutherford Hayes in 1880. In 1855, American sailors found an abandoned British ship called the HMS Resolute. The United States government returned the ship to England as a sign of peace. When the British Navy retired the Resolute, the Queen had the ships' timbers turned into a desk. Since 1880, all but three presidents have used the Resolute desk. President John F. Kennedy was the first to put the desk in the Oval Office. A famous photograph shows him working at the desk while his son plays underneath it.

6The Oval Office’s style may have changed over the years, but its importance has not. American presidents have welcomed heads of state, representatives, and royalty to the Oval Office. Furthermore, many presidents do their most important work from the Oval Office, including meeting with members of Congress, vetoing and signing legislation, and making formal addresses to the nation. The Oval Office is a symbol of the president and will interest the public for generations to come.

Item bank:
Each president has decorated the Oval Office to suit his own tastes.

Article 1:
How Lift-Offs Lift Our Spirits, by Miranda Sharon
America’s space program does not get the attention it once did. It certainly doesn’t generate the same excitement. From the 1950s through the 1970s, astronauts were national heroes. Children dreamed of traveling through space. Adults looked to the moon with the sense of national pride. Those days could—and should—return again.
If average Americans search their brain, it is not hard to find arguments against space travel. It costs money. It’s dangerous. We have enough problems on our own planet. If the same Americans search their hearts, however, the results are different. Deep within us, we all have similar desires. Space exploration fulfills all these desires.
Let’s begin with curiosity. We all have it. From the time we are small children we long to know what is in the next room, down the street, or in the next town. We are nomads, wanting to explore. We are detectives, trying to solve a mystery. We are students of life, seeking answers. The space program gives us a chance to be all those things and more. Even if we don’t travel ourselves, the excitement of new discoveries would again feed our thirst for something new.
Another benefit of returning to space is the inspiration it provides. In the early days of space travel, America had a goal. We wanted to reach space safely and quickly. The country responded spectacularly. Teamwork and creativity reached all-time highs. Students delved deeper into science and math hoping to contribute. Heroes stepped up to bravely accept challenges. We were attempting the impossible and determined to succeed. Think of the amazing things Americans would accomplish if that inspiration returned.
Perhaps the largest thing lost with a shrinking space program is perspective. Exploring space reminds us how small and fragile our planet truly is. It encourages collaboration with other countries which helps cultural differences disappear. It can reveal the effects of abusing natural resources. Looking at our Earth from a great distance gives us a unique view of our world and the effect we have upon it.
Plans for America’s space program should clearly be revisited. Exploration of our solar system should continue not for science or power or money, but for the benefit of mankind. It gives us an outlet for our curiosity. It provides inspiration for our souls. It offers a perspective to help understand our place in the universe. The benefits are as vast as space itself.
Article 2:
The Sky Has No Limits, by Roger T. Reynolds
The state of NASA’s space program has been the subject of much speculation in recent years. Debates have raged among members of Congress, business owners, and the general public. the president has expressed his thoughts on numerous occasions as well. The conversations seem to boil down to one question: Do the benefits of space travel outweigh the cost? A logical look at the question makes the answer quite apparent. NASA’s space program is worth preserving at any cost.
Put simply, NASA creates jobs. Jobs, in return, help the economy. A single space project can employ hundreds of workers from high level, top security jobs to lower level, yet important role players. Scientists are assigned to solve problems. Engineers are contracted to build prototypes. Truckers are hired to transport materials. Large corporations are paid for contributions, earning profits so they may hire more employees.
The work of NASA also pays huge dividends for the environment. Studying Earth from space provides keen insight into many areas. Scientists monitor the ozone layer. They track the effects of global warming. They study patterns of dangerous storms. They test the possibility of space colonies. All of these activities offer hope to our increasingly overcrowded planet.
The work of NASA often leads to advances in technology. Solving the mysteries of space creates solutions that help elsewhere. The Jaws of Life save victims in car accidents. The technology came from NASA research. The artificial heart did, as well. The list goes on. Architects, athletes, and auto workers have benefited from space-related discoveries. NASA has enhanced everything from shoes to food. You likely come into contact with something improved by NASA nearly every day.
It is impossible to list all the benefits of a thriving space program. It is equally impossible to predict how many new benefits are within our grasp. To find them, we must keep reaching for the stars.
